CBD in skin care?

RSS
CBD (cannabidiol) is making waves as one of the hottest new ingredients to hit the skin care market. But does it live up to the hype?
Proponents say that it helps relieve irritation, calm inflammatory responses, and has anti-aging properties. Unfortunately, most of the evidence is anecdotal at best. There was a promising study out of the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2012 that did show that CBD help heal the skin of those with psoriasis and eczema - two painful skin disorders.
As for anti-aging properties, the jury is still out. Right now, there seems to be more consumer demand than there are scientifically backed studies.

Bottom line - there is nothing inherintly wrong with incorporating CBD into your skin care, especially if you suffer from eczema or psoriasis. However, if you want the best in anti-aging, your money is better spent on vitamin A derivatives (retinol, retinoids), peptide technology, and vitamin C - three ingredients proven to reduce the signs of aging and improve cellular strength and turnover.
